Resolved Question: Why do bill collectors keep calling the wrong number?
I have a prepaid cell phone that I purchased roughly 5 wks ago. This past week, I started getting phone calls from a bill collector asking for someone else. I politely told them that they have the wrong number. They still keep calling – at least 5 calls a day. I don’t understand their lack of common sense. If they have the wrong #, why do they keep calling? The only thing I can think of is maybe my cell # is a recycled # that used to belong to a deadbeat. Or, they’ll ask, “Are you sure you’re not so and so?” What a dumb question to ask. Uh, yeah, I think after living on this earth for 30 years, I’d know who I am. How should I handle this? I don’t like to be rude to people, but I feel like saying, “What part of wrong number don’t you understand?” Also, is it true that you can’t block a # on a cell phone?
